Okay, moms, it's time to let the reigns down and let your tweens make this craft. It's easy enough and shouldn't be too terribly messy. These lavender vanilla soaps could be something they could give their teachers for a special occasion, and maybe you'll get a bar too.

Supplies to make homemade lavender vanilla soap

  • ¾ lb Shea Butter melt and pour soap base
  • One tablespoon of dried lavender flowers
  • 10 drops of 100% pure Lavender Essential Oil
  • 10 drops of vanilla essential oil
  • Large glass measuring cup
  • Spoon or wooden popsicle stick
  • Rectangular soap molds (3)
  • Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol

Instructions for Lavender Vanilla Soap

Step 1. Sprinkle a few lavender buds into the molds.

Step 2. Using a butter knife, cut the soap base into cubes, and place it in a measuring cup.

Step 3. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir very well. If not completely melted, repeat for 10-second intervals until fully melted. Let cool slightly.

Step 4. Add essential oils one drop at a time.

Step 5. Stir lavender buds into the mixture.

Step 6. Pour the mixture into the soap molds.

Step 7. Spray lightly with rubbing alcohol. This step helps to prevent bubbles.

Step 8. Let sit for about 30-60 minutes and remove from molds.
